Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty four year old Washington woman allegedly used her Lexus as a weapon against federal agents, attempting to run down Border Patrol officers who were detaining suspects from a truck crash scene. Heres what may have happened.
On Monday, August twenty fifth, shortly after noon, a box truck rollover accident set off a chain of events that would lead to multiple arrests in Washington. The commercial vehicle had gone off road and struck a tree, involving two men identified as Jhoan Andres Ortiz-Calderon and Victor Hugo Cardona-Calderon.
When officers responded to the crash scene, the situation escalated quickly. The truck driver presented a license stating "not for federal identification purposes" and failed to answer English proficiency questions, prompting authorities to request Border Protection assistance.
As officers were walking the two men to a Border Patrol vehicle, twenty four year old Olivia Wilkins arrived on scene as a bystander. According to official reports, Wilkins began verbally abusing authorities before being told to leave the area.
What happened next turned a routine traffic incident into a dangerous confrontation. Officers report that Wilkins "used her vehicle to drive at the group of law enforcement, squealing the tires and swerving, nearly hitting them." One trooper stated, "I drew my issued firearm and pointed at the driver who swerved as I was pulling the trigger."
Authorities determined that Wilkins was "attempting to prevent the apprehension of the individual that Customs and Border Patrol had detained." After the initial attempt to strike officers with her vehicle, sheriff's deputies pursued Wilkins through the area.
The chase concluded when her Lexus went off road around five seventy one West Washington Road, where Wilkins crashed and was subsequently arrested. She faces charges including driving to endanger, obstructing government administration, and failure to stop for an officer, with bail set at five hundred dollars.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
