According to police reports, Elmoncy Sercle connected with the victim through Seeking.com before moving their conversation to WhatsApp. The two arranged to meet at the Serena Hotel on Sunday afternoon, where Sercle allegedly planned to purchase the woman's used sneakers.
The victim, who described herself as a foot model, quoted her standard rate of one thousand dollars for her services. She arrived at the hotel to find Sercle had left the room door open for her entry.
Once inside, the encounter took an uncomfortable turn. The victim stated, "When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn't feel comfortable with that." She explained her willingness to sell the footwear, saying, "I mean, you could have my sneakers all you want. I mean, I don't care. I'm not wearing them. And you know, they're just stinky old sneakers. But people like weird things."
The situation escalated when Sercle allegedly fled the hotel room while the victim was in the bathroom, apparently taking what she believed were her shoes. The confrontation moved to the hotel parking area, where the victim says the encounter turned violent.
According to her account, "he did a three-point turn and actually hit me with a car. Ran me over." The victim survived the alleged assault, later stating, "I'm still standing."
Aventura Police Department arrested Sercle on Thursday and set his bond at three thousand dollars. Investigators indicate this incident follows a pattern, with police stating he has been the subject of other incidents involving the same modus operandi.
