Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-nine-year-old Florida man already on probation for stalking faces multiple charges after allegedly hurling his small dog to the ground outside a tiki bar, then headbutting a police cruiser during his arrest. Here's what may have happened.
Thursday evening at eight zero four, the Brevard County Communications Center received a disturbance call from Gator's Dockside restaurant. Witnesses reported Christopher Stanley was charging at a caller while visibly intoxicated outside the establishment.
According to police reports, what happened next shocked onlookers. Stanley raised his arm above his head and threw his dog Wilson to the ground in the parking lot with significant force. The small animal whimpered and ran off after being slammed onto the pavement.
When officers arrived, Stanley was reportedly screaming and frantically searching for his dog and personal belongings. His behavior quickly escalated during the arrest process. Police say Stanley reared his head back and slammed it down on the hood of a patrol car, causing a visible dent to the vehicle.
Officials expressed strong condemnation of Stanley's alleged actions. One stated, "Folks, if you have enough evil in your heart, whether you're drunk or not, to do that to this little baby, you deserve to sit in jail because if you can do that to an animal, you can do it to a human."
As officers took Stanley into custody, one was heard saying "he's your problem now" on bodycam footage.
Stanley now faces charges including animal cruelty, threats to law enforcement, resisting with violence, disorderly intoxication, and breach of the peace. The incident is particularly concerning given that Stanley was already serving probation for a previous stalking conviction.
The condition of Wilson the dog remains unknown, though witnesses confirmed the animal fled the scene after the alleged abuse.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
