ATLANTA COP ARRESTED BY HIS OWN DEPARTMENT - YOU WONT BELIEVE WHY

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A former Atlanta police officer faces rape and false imprisonment charges after allegedly assaulting a massage therapist at gunpoint and stealing back his payment. Here's what may have happened.

On June sixth, a woman arrived at a home on Sparks Street Southwest to provide massage services to Muhammad Muhammad, an off-duty Atlanta police officer who had joined the department in twenty twenty. According to police reports, what began as a professional appointment quickly turned into a nightmare for the victim.

The woman reported that Muhammad touched her inappropriately and ignored her protests before sexually assaulting her. The situation escalated dramatically when Muhammad allegedly pulled out a gun, threatened the victim, and took back the money he had originally paid for her services.

Two days later, on June eighth, the brave victim walked into Atlanta police headquarters to report the assault. This triggered an internal investigation that would ultimately lead to Muhammad's downfall within the department.

The Atlanta Police Department conducted their own investigation into one of their officers. Police Chief Darin Schierbaum emphasized that the department holds its own officers to the same standards as everyone else, though he declined further comment on the specific case.

On August twenty seventh, twenty twenty five, Muhammad Muhammad was arrested on charges of rape and false imprisonment. The department also terminated his employment.

City officials stressed the importance of public trust, stating "We also want our constituents and community to be able to trust the individuals that are employed to serve us." They highlighted the department's accountability, noting "You talk about accountability. APD did the investigation, APD did the arrest, APD fired him."

Officials emphasized that "Police officers are not above the law. They are actually held to a higher standard because they are the ones that are enforcing laws."

The case has drawn additional scrutiny as the National Police Accountability Project filed a Freedom of Information Act request to examine the Atlanta Police Department, with Muhammad joining a troubling list of officers facing misconduct allegations.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
